ABSTRACT

In her Economic Philosophy, Joan Robinson observed that "it is not possible to describe [a particular economic] system without moral judgments creeping in." 1 Thus being in agreement with John Maynard Keynes that "economics is essentially a moral science . . . [that] employs . . . judgments of value," 2 Robinson admonished her fellow economists "to combat, not foster, the ideology which pretends that values which can be measured in terms of money are the only ones that ought to count." 3
