ABSTRACT
The methodological debate between deductive theorists and empiricists in the late nineteenth century and J. N. Keynes's resolution of this debate is the subject of Phyllis Deane's article. She characterizes Keynes's "resolution" as more of an agreement to disagree than an agreement or compromise over the actual methodological differences.
