ABSTRACT

The formation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics gave rise to new economic relations, among which the economic relations among the soviet socialist republics occupy an important place. The economic integration of the Soviet republics into an integral national economic complex has been made possible by the development of economic ties among the republics and the evolution of union-wide infrastructural and economic organizational systems. The economic specialization of each of the republics stimulates bilateral exchange of goods between republics; moreover, ties among republics are closely intertwined with ties among the different sectors and branches of industry. Every union republic participates in interrepublic exchange of the products of many of the sectors of industry and agriculture. The economic effect of interaction between the Soviet republics creates a universal economic interest in close cooperation, and a fundamental basis for bringing Union and republic socioeconomic interests in line with one another.
