ABSTRACT

A single social system, common ideals, goals, and interests, joint labors, and a shared historical destiny have forged among Soviet people of different nationalities a common ideological orientation and similar traits of character and moral makeup. The patriotism of the Soviet man is the true embodiment of the dialectical unity of national and international elements in the life of our society and the life of the individual. Socialist patriotism finds its realization in labor exertions, in selfless devotion to the interests of the Motherland, in readiness to defend her freedom, independence, and dignity, in strivings to increase her glory and prosperity. Soviet patriotism is a dynamic patriotism, rooted in the vibrant activism of revolutionaries—transformers and builders of a new life. It finds expression in the Soviet people’s active involvement in labor and politics, and in their real personal contribution to the country’s economy and culture.
