ABSTRACT
Development of economy in Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (NKAO) is insured by close collaboration and cooperation with other regions of Azerbaidzhan, from which Nagorno-Karabakh receives various types of equipment, metal products, construction materials, fuel and energy resources, raw materials, and other varied goods. The plan adopted in Azerbaidzhan for allocation of productive forces through the year 2005 calls for further development of the basis for light industry and the agro-industrial complex base in the NKAO in the next five-year plan. The Fevlakh-Stepanakert gas pipeline has made it possible to start comprehensive gasification of population centers in the NKAO. The working people of the NKAO, just as all workers in Azerbaidzhan, and the entire Soviet people, have every basis on which to look to the future with firm faith and optimism. The industrial enterprises of NKAO are bound with close economic ties to many other enterprises of the country.
