ABSTRACT

Universities are becoming more entrepreneurial, with the goals of increasing students’ employability and university spin-offs, as well as enhancing teaching, research and contributions to the regional economy. Entrepreneurship education has become the most important mechanism of knowledge transfer to create and transfer value to society, and in particular, to create new enterprises.

This study integrates the theoretical and empirical foundations of entrepreneurship education, synthesizing the experiences of the leading universities in Europe and the United States and provides best practice studies identifying policies that universities implement to create entrepreneurship education conducive to entrepreneurial activity and promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
