ABSTRACT
This chapter explains the recent writings on responsible leadership in times of change to try to elucidate the core of this concept and what it is about. It also explains responsible practices and strategies of five sustainability champions from the Arab world, thus illustrating what they have done to drive change in relation to sustainability by placing sustainability at the very heart of the businesses they have created. The five sustainability champions are Fadi Ghandour, Naseer Homoud, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Rana Salhab and Adnan Kassar. The chapter focuses on analyzing responsible leadership in an under-studied context-namely, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. With respect to Pless Matrix of Responsible Leadership Orientation, the selected corporate social responsibility (CSR) champions were found to follow the integrator dimension by having a high degree of accountability and a broad breadth of constituent group focus.
