ABSTRACT

The main aim of Businet is to promote intercultural awareness along with student exchange, and this has resulted in the development of an International Businet week that each member hosts within their own institution aimed at achieving the competencies as identified by Deardorff. In terms of identifying the lessons learned from running the international week, it was found that students needed clearer information with regards to what was expected of them before they arrived at the Businet International week and what was expected of them when attending. As a whole, the international week was considered a success by the department and university as it was with other partners within the Businet organisation as reported by Cardiff Metropolitan University (CMU) students who attended similar Businet international weeks. In terms of improving the areas identified there were a few areas that could be developed to enhance the student experience.
