ABSTRACT
Until relatively recently, the study of moral development was primarily the study of antisocial or immoral behavior. Aggression, dishonesty, inability to resist temptation, and other undesirable behaviors were the topic of concern, whereas positive behaviors were relatively ignored. This focus on negative behavior was reflected in not only the research on moral behavior, but also that related to moral judgment.
