ABSTRACT
The Arab creation in youth literature was born without borders as it were: the impetus for the founding of the first publishing house specifically dedicated to children’s literature, Dâr al-Fatâ al-‘Arabî (1974), was the loss of a land and the absence of a state – that of Palestine – and this first publishing venture mobilised creators originating from the whole Arab Middle East.1
