ABSTRACT

This collection of papers was originally among several presented in the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers in New York honoring James O. Wheeler (1938-2010). Jim Wheeler leaves an extensive legacy to geography that can be seen in his many roles within the discipline, including service as teacher, administrator, editor, board member, researcher, and advisor to a host of students and colleagues. Particularly, he was a founding editor of Urban Geography, for which he co-edited for more than two decades and contributed 16 editorials.
