ABSTRACT

This chapter evaluates the processes and findings of a study conducted with grounded theory approach. It explains the qualitative data are largely in the form of the participants' narratives field notes and archival material. The chapter discusses the researcher uses constant comparison and memo writing to refine the focused codes and develop their definitions and indicators. Initial coding makes use of constant comparison of the data from the same participant across the interview and among interviews of all participants. Memo or memorandum writing is another important process that a researcher engages in after each phase of coding. The chapter discusses initial purposive sampling often paves the way for theoretical sampling through the need that arises during the study to address new questions or research direction for which more data are generated from the same or a new set of participants. It makes an attempt to provide an integrated understanding of the views of the experts in qualitative research on trustworthiness.
