ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the emotional pain has been looked at as a result of grief over losing loved ones. Any kind of healing process is thus an emotionally charged experience, and its efficacy lies primarily in its ability to deal with disturbing emotions. Healing is an ongoing process but not a linear one; it goes on in a cycle of ups and downs. Therefore, one cannot determine any stages in the healing process. The categories under which the results were discussed are neither exclusive nor progressive categories. That is so perhaps because healing essentially gets effected and continues in the deeper realms of the human mind, often unknown to the person herself/himself. The present chapter has relied on the narrative approach to illuminate the process of healing emotional pain. It belief in the Divine was purely a post-tragedy phenomena. The sense of self which one has, gets devastated and shattered as a result of the tragedy.
