ABSTRACT

Since the global financial and economic crisis erupted in 2008, its reverberations are still coursing through the global economy, and in consequence, driving significant geopolitical changes. It is important to understand that the crisis has been deep and pervasive and its effects are showing no signs of dissipating. In some respects, they may even be getting exacerbated, as evidenced by the danger of Eurozone collapse. In examining the possible changes in the global geopolitical landscape, one should focus on some of the underlying realities and relative certainties that can give us better markers for the future.
