ABSTRACT

With the introduction of Web-scale discovery, it is almost impossible to envision returning to the fractioned library resource searching of the past. In leveraging the commercial Google-like approach to searching, the expectation of the user is forever raised with the increasingly seamless ability to discover library resources in the same way. This article shares experiences and practical advice on Web-scale discovery and electronic resources management, collection development considerations, and services integration within the context of the questions librarians should ask themselves before, during, and after implementation.
