ABSTRACT
Criminology and forensic science have traditionally been the preserve of academics, law enforcement and crime control agencies. Over the last decade, both disciplines have enjoyed a tremendous growth in popularity among diverse audiences across the world. Yet, in public discourse, they are regularly misrepresented and their scientific bases and methodological approaches are often poorly understood.
