ABSTRACT
The European Forensic Science Area is a patchwork of national solutions to provide for forensic science delivery. Different juridical systems play an important role, as do the historical developments of forensic laboratories within police services and universities, those developed and operated privately,and those within justice departments. This chapter provides a glance at the different practices employed in a number of European countries and recent evolutions in forensic science provision.
