ABSTRACT

Byron, Sardanapalus [etc.] (1821); European Magazine, LXXXI (Jan. 1822), 58–70. That this reviewer may be identified with him who wrote the two previous reviews of Byron is suggested not only by his moralistic tone, but by certain preferred spellings: “it’s” (for the possessive), “pourtrayed,” “controul”—all used during the period, but only occasionally at this date.
