Byron, Childe Harold, I–II (1812); Critical Review, 4th Series, I (June 1812), 561–575. The reviewer, presumably the same who wrote on English Bards, again warns Byron against overexercising his satirical gifts. The restrained tone of the eighteenth-century gentleman is very much in evidence in the review.
