Byron, Manfred (1817); European Magazine, LXXII (Aug. 1817), 150–152. The reviewer (certainly not the same who wrote on The Siege of Corinth) recognizes, as some reviewers did not, that Manfred’s secret sin is incest (p. 151), though he or the compositor mistakes Astarte’s name.
