ABSTRACT

Wordsworth, Poems (1807); Satirist, I (Nov. 1807), 188–191. “Mother Bunch” (p. 188) was, like Mother Goose, the focus of collections of children’s stories during the late eighteenth century. The critic in the Satirist joined other reviewers in attacking both Wordsworth’s theory in the Preface to Lyrical Ballads and his practice in Poems, in Two Volumes.
