ABSTRACT
Through the allegory of the annual Autumn Floods, Zhuangzi delivers his unique lively and flexible wisdom which echoes numerous central tenets of existential-humanistic psychology. The Autumn Floods arrive during the fall season when thousands of tributaries pour into the Yellow River, swelling it to the point of submerging a number of small islands along the way. Through the unrestrained nature of Zhuangzi's writings, the enormous and ambitious vision of the Autumn Floods reverberates through the mind of all mankind. The dialectic unity thinking of Laozi and Zhuangzi lays the Chinese cultural foundations of opposites symbolized by the Yin and Yang. In order to accompany Zhuangzi into a grand and pure spiritual realm, one is bound to view life from a different perspective, respect nature, and gain trust in the existence of a natural law that integrates everything harmoniously.
