ABSTRACT

The cardinal demand expressed is the need to transform a selfishly man-centered technology into a set of comprehensive systems which can achieve dynamic symbiotic fit. Shifting parameters in environmental design philosophy have led to place increased emphasis on formerly unknown or neglected factors and influences. Technology needs regulative functions derived from the socio-political context; that is, scientific advancement must be more closely linked with the goals of human and environmental life. Unchecked technologies degenerate into technocracies, preventing further social and organic evolution. All technologies must be examined closely for their potential to enhance life-system developments. Life can be seen as a dynamic state of harmony between vital demands and environmental conditions. The greater the demands, which are resulting from the higher level of organization, the greater the call made on the environment for the satisfaction of these demands.
