Nevertheless, I insist that neither King Edward nor his Government, nor even the British people, who are aroused against us, wish for a war with Germany. But there are causes which might lead to it. The Morocco question has brought us a step nearer to war with England. I am far from wishing to criticise our Morocco policy; on the contrary, I think we were quite right to break down the French plot. But I consider it my duty to indicate the possible consequences as far as England is concerned .
