ABSTRACT

“Designing Off The Street” is an attempt to synergically combine existing items in our environment to answer human needs. It is a process which involves people directly in the solutions, and allows them to grasp the implications of creatively utilizing what is already available in their environment. In this sense, “Designing Off The Street” is an attempt to teach a systemized form of “make-doism” to people who have been conditioned by our technocracy to expect and accept obsolescense.
