ABSTRACT

healthTIDE is a statewide network in Wisconsin. It emerged through discussions among a broad range of stakeholders about the pressing need for action to prevent obesity – particularly through changes in policy, systems, and environments (PSE). This chapter reports findings from research on the application of the Collective Impact model through healthTIDE. It examines the strengths and weaknesses of this model and explores other approaches, such as community organizing, for guiding statewide coordinated action to prevent obesity.
