ABSTRACT
Housing discrimination and segregation persist and have serious consequences for all communities, and not just the immediate victims of illegal behavior. At the same time, the Federal Fair Housing Act has had significant positive impacts on many communities and residents that have long paid many of these costs. How we can build on these victories by addressing the fundamental institutional sources of discrimination and segregation is the challenge going forward.
