ABSTRACT
The primary co-sponsors of the Fair Housing Act were Walter Mondale, then a Democratic senator from Minnesota, and Massachusetts Republican Senator Edward Brooke. In his concluding comment, Mondale drives home the importance of integration as the key for creating equal housing opportunity and for ameliorating the many other challenges that face the nation’s metropolitan areas.
