This chapter explains political and personal analysis of women and environmental issues, based on the author's experience as the vice president and the head of the Department of the Environment (DOE). It discusses the achievements that the author and her female colleagues experienced at the DOE and the challenges they faced. The chapter examines people achievements and challenges at the international level. Iranian women have been a source of fascination, wonder and intrigue for the world during the past three decades. When the author was appointed as the first woman to hold the position of the vice president and the head of the Department of the Environment, some critics viewed her appointment as a purely cosmetic reform. The chapter also explains the author's achievements and challenges at the international level, concentrating on the theme of the Dialogue among Civilisations which sought to open new vistas for international relations.
