ABSTRACT

This chapter describes some of the changes and challenges for librarians, learning technologists, academics and others as they seek new ways, and reinvent old ways, of supporting students in new environments. It considers how collaborations between librarians, academics and learning technologists make a difference to the student experience. The chapter delivers blended learning to enable students to develop academic and digital literacies as they read for a degree in an environment where print is just one of the resources available to them. It also considers changes in learning styles necessitated by the shift to e, and shows what skills and literacies students need in order to be successful learners in a digital, and post-digital, world. The chapter examines the three aims of this project, and how they have contributed to the subsequent development of the learning environment at Bournemouth University (BU) and indeed the wider academic community.
