ABSTRACT

Niepołomice is a small town of approx. 12,000 inhabitants located in the vicinity of Cracow (about 10 km from the city centre) within the borders of the Cracow Metropolitan Area (CMA). It has been perceived as an example of local economic success since the beginning of system transformation in Poland (after 1989). The reasons for this success are primarily to be found in the consistent, comprehensive pro-investment policy.
