ABSTRACT
From the beginning of his academic career dating back to his doctoral studies in the mid-1970s at the University of Leicester, Michael Burgess has made major contributions to the comparative study of federalism and federations. He has done this through both his involvement with the community of scholars working in the field and his publications.
