ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book elaborates on external Europeanisation with special reference to Europeanisation. It views Constitutionalism in Turkey and analyses constitutional amendments in Turkey since the 1980's. The book explores the transformative impact of the EU on Turkish civil society at both legal and practical levels. It also explains Europeanisation of minority rights in Turkey by applying EU conditionality and domestic choice for change approach conceptualised by the external incentives and lesson-drawing models. The book argues that the field of women's rights from the perspective of Europeanisation. It shows how and to what extent any change can occur in Turkish Environmental Policy, particularly in terms of the perception and practice of sustainable development through EU conditionality. The book analysis of external incentives determined by the EU, credibility of EU conditionality and its legitimacy processes of rule adoption and implementation and mechanisms of social learning.
