ABSTRACT

This book proposes a reflection on the EU long-term involvement with international organisations, through the use of the concepts of commitment, consistency and effects. Although each chapter shares a common structure, they all exist independently from one another. Precisely because the chapters are presented individually throughout the volume, the aim of this short conclusion is to put all the contributions in one basket, to look at them as a whole and to try to extract some interesting thoughts on their common features. By doing so, it returns to the concepts of commitment, consistency and effects and presents the main findings of the book. Other key themes that emerge from the volume are also briefly dealt with.
