ABSTRACT

Indigenous peoples have a stake or are in control of many of the major natural resource projects in the developed (and in some cases) developing world. 1 Corporations involved in the resource and other sectors have to appropriately engage with Indigenous peoples to ensure project, business and organizational strategic success. Otherwise, tensions will emerge and business objectives, strategies and plans will be put in jeopardy. The question then becomes how do organizations effectively engage Indigenous peoples and other stakeholders to ensure corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives.
