ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the relationship between action learning and Organization Development (OD). It proposes that they are overlapping fields of practice, with interesting similarities and differences. Both are experienced as challenging to conventional ways of viewing organizations and people, but are also subject to increasing challenge themselves. These issues are illustrated with two accounts of practice and some preconditions are proposed for a more fruitful future relationship between the two fields of action learning and OD.
