ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on the Practitioner Plenary Panel held at the International Symposium on Aviation Psychology (ISAP) in May 2015. The charge to the panel was for aviation practitioners to present their thoughts regarding the current and future human factor challenges in their various domains. This Plenary Panel was followed the next day by a Researcher Plenary Panel that would present research and development (R&D) approaches and strategies that address the challenges confronted by the practitioners (see Chapter 3, this volume). The overarching goal of these two plenary sessions was to foster dialogues between operational personnel and researchers in order to promote more efficient R&D efforts and a safer aviation industry.
