ABSTRACT

With a meager per capita income figure of $310 and Gross National Product (GNP) of $38 billion, Nigeria has the potential to be a leading emerging market in Africa. The country boasts of huge but yet-to-be-tapped economic potentials, and a 993,000 square-kilometer stretch of fertile land should place Nigeria in the league of exporting economies of the world. The projected population of nearly 150 million adds further strength to other variables that make the country an enormous reservoir of human and natural resources, and a fertile ground for trade and investment.
