ABSTRACT

The Service Innovation Corner (SINCO) is a laboratory concept for agile hands-on service development. It was developed at the University of Lapland and has been used and developed in collaboration with dozens of companies, such as Kone, Volkswagen and Danske Bank. In the SINCO lab, service landscapes are simulated quickly with images and sounds, and do not require advanced engineering skills or much preparatory work. Service-scape simulations serve as platforms for experience prototyping in co-creation workshops involving diff erent stakeholders. Mobile devices and applications are used in a creative and agile way with crafted mock-ups and props to demonstrate new ideas. In the SINCO lab, all gadgets, tools and materials are quickly accessible for instant and iterative building. Facilitated co-prototyping sessions at the SINCO lab serve as a communication platform for integrating the service design approach and agile business-development processes.
