ABSTRACT

The authors of the chapters in this book reinforce and enhance our passion for assessment centers. In line with each of the three themes of the book we see new evidence that the assessment center (AC) method can contribute to individual and organizational effectiveness. We invited the contributors to tell the stories of their involvement in ACs because we were aware of their special contributions. We were not disappointed to read the descriptions of their programs. We were gratified to learn about their research, how they dealt with special demands in their organizations and their countries, and how they integrated the AC method into broader talent-management programs.
