ABSTRACT
A hymn, which had been composed by Nikolaus Ludwig Count von Zinzendorf (1700-1760), the founder of the Moravian “congregation of God”, in Herrnhut, Saxony, in 1722, opened with the words “Ave Diaspora, with reverence! You are the salt of the earth, Ave! You are worthy” (Meyer 1995, 65).
