ABSTRACT

Workplace leaders in many industrialized countries are required by law to assess the psychosocial work environment and occupational health on a regular basis. However, leaders often report that they lack knowledge about how to utilize and act upon the results from these assessments to improve occupational health. This may illustrate a gap between science and practice. Scientifically, there is well-established knowledge about psychosocial factors that can cause work-related ill health. At the same time, interpreting the results from occupational health surveys and knowing what do and how to focus interventions based on the results is not easy for many leaders. Moreover, the number of evidence-based interventions for occupational health promotion is increasing. This can make it more difficult to know which of the methods would be the most suitable one. In this chapter, we discuss how an Internet-based approach can be used for working with occupational health and making the scientific evidence easily available for workplace leaders.
