ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book begins the process of developing knowledge on the arduous process of transition by Russia in the context of crisis management through a number of individual case studies. It discusses the term 'transitional state' is used in the section. The book contexts an earlier research that has been conducted by researchers from CRISMART, the definition of the word is related to the idea and path of political transition from a communist/authoritarian state to a democratic state. It hopes that go some small way to establishing a knowledge base concerning crisis management in this dynamic country. Mass media reports are widely used in this book, which means that there, needs to be some understanding of the situation currently facing Russian journalists and mass media. It tracks developments and trends in the Russian media sphere and analyses the role they play in Russian society.
