ABSTRACT
The entry of Croatia into NATO and the European Union symbolically ended the process of transition during which Croatia has been transformed into country of multiparty democracy and market economy. In addition to the social, economic and legal adjustments, transformation of the Croatian security and defense system is an essential part of the transition process as a whole.
