ABSTRACT

Diffuse design refers to the human ability of solving problems and creating opportunity via the conception and realization of meaningful artefacts: human capability. Expert design refers to specific knowledge and set of tools. Expert design is performed by professional designers, design researchers, design schools, design-related media and institutions. More precisely, design experts should use their creativity, sensitivity and skills to conceive and enhance a variety of design initiatives at the different stages of the co-design and co-production process, and do so by adopting different tools and methods, in order to achieve different outcomes. Collaborative services are also necessarily based on the use of some artefacts: products, services, places, communication and organization tools that are, more or less consciously, systemized in order to get the desired results. Collaborative services are living entities the survival of which depends on the quality of their environment.
