ABSTRACT

The Homer Multitext Project is exploring how we can exploit digital information technology to represent the historical tradition of the Iliad.1 In contrast to print editions privileging the reconstruction of a particular moment in the Iliad’s transmission, or even a conceived ‘original’ Iliad, the Multitext Project seeks to document as fully as possible a wide variety of Iliads ranging from Hellenistic papyri to medieval manuscripts, to early printed editions.
