ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book summarises the views, and those of the contributors, in relation to the rationale for and utility of electronic performance support systems (EPSS). The book presents three broad strands: first, some thoughts on where people going in terms of the use of human-performance technology; role that technology is likely to play in the future; some reflections on the ideas that have been presented. There are many possible ways in which the future of EPSS could unfold. One of these could involve a future in which people have much greater dependence on digital technologies, both for individual and collaborative ventures as has been predicted by Broers and many of the contributions to the book. However, because of the highly specialised knowledge that the contributors to the book possess, people thought it would be appropriate to leave the 'last word' with them.
