ABSTRACT

Globalization lends itself to migration, particularly cross-border migration, throughout India's states. Reports about illegal immigration to India, particularly from neighboring Bangladesh, indicate tense relations as several Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh. The emerging technological challenges drive the need for India to also focus on research and development expenditure, both for private and public sectors, in building the competitive strength of entrepreneurs at home and in external markets. UNICEF India's Girl Star Project, through video and mobile theaters, highlights the potential of education by focusing on Uttar Pradesh girls who have succeeded in the areas of political leadership, microfinancing, computer training, and even beekeeping. India is the only country she has emigrated to, and she has no plans for further migration to any other country. Academic attention on female immigrant entrepreneurship is nascent but crucial in order to understand are the myriad ways in which entrepreneurial immigrant women contribute to growth and development in their host and home countries.
