ABSTRACT

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a modernized Islamic society with its roots in a rural and conservative past; nowadays it paves the way for the Arab world to become the commercial and economic hub of the twenty-first century. The UAE has been a center of trade since ancient times with copper, pearls and oil as some of its most precious commercial commodities. The numerous free trade zones established in the country made the country one of the top re-exporters of the world along with Singapore and Hong Kong. The Female Immigrant Entrepreneurs Project (FIEP) survey was administered to 40 female immigrant entrepreneurs (FIE) and the recorded data were analyzed using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. Following the life cycle approach in researching FIEs in the UAE, data regarding the various business stages were collected and summarized based on their statistical significance and importance.
