ABSTRACT

This chapter considers what happens when criminal charges are brought and a fraud investigation turns into a prosecution. The aim of the chapter is to explore all aspects of the trial process and the considerations that will apply in the preparation of any prosecution and also to illustrate what trial advocates, who will present the case in court, are going to be looking for from the investigators. Because trial advocacy is by its nature an art rather than a science, it is inevitable that this chapter will be structured rather differently from some of the others in this book.
